My new favorite pants.
Nike is calling their new Sculpt Women’s Training Tights their best fit ever. And, I have to agree.
These are the most flattering and
comfortable workout pants I have ever worn. And, I don’t even plan on really working
out in them. These, folks, are my new go-to leggings for fall.
New for Fall 2013 is the Nike
Sculpt Tight, a product that redefines performance tights for women. Meant
to be worn high on the waist, the Nike Sculpt Tight provides a flattering
silhouette with added support for an improved look and feel while working out.
The compressive fit, particularly
in the waist, hip and thigh, helps lift and shape, visually slimming and
elongating legs as the wearer bends, stretches and moves. The high-waistband
construction helps provide a natural fit and allows for unrestricted movement.
They aren’t cheap at $110 but they are totally worth it. Trust me, you are going to want a pair.

Lunch for friends.
Sometimes, you just want to have friends over for lunch for no reason other than to see one another and drink rosé. I think that is totally okay. Here is a recent spread from just such a gathering.

Change is good.
Do you ever have one of those moments where you look around a room in your house and think, I really don't like anything in here? I feel like I do that all the time.
My living room had been bothering me for a while. Not really my entire living room. It was actually just the table behind the couch. It took me a while (like months) to pinpoint that this was the source of my angst. I was pretty relieved to discover I didn't hate the entire room and that it was just one, small, easily fixable thing that had bothering me. I had set some stuff there as a placeholder a year ago when we moved and then never really did anything with it.
So, now that I knew where the problem area was, I set out to Homegoods to fix it. I went wild purchasing a ton of stuff I thought I would like. I got home, set it up, stepped back to take it all in... and hated it. It looked really forced and a little over-styled, which didn't match the rest of myrandom eclectic home. It just didn't feel like me.
So instead of redoing the table with new stuff, I tried moving around things I already owned, keeping just one $14 item from my Homegoods shopping spree. The outcome was much better.
Sometimes a small change is all it takes.

Gold fever.
This project could not have been any easier. We used Mona Lisa's Gold Leaf Kit and basically just followed the directions, keeping our gold leafed areas a little loose so that each pot looked unique and they weren't totally uniform.
This would be a great activity if you have some old terracotta pots in need of a little love. I might have to go grab a few from my mom's garage and create a set for myself.

Staplejam.
I had the privilege of attending Mick & Ashley's beautiful wedding last weekend at Ashley's family ranch outside of Oregon City. Here are a few (okay 40) photos to commemorate the day.
Congrats, Mick & Ashley! Enjoy your honeymoon!
